Samira is the director of Cairo Fusion, including Mazana, Isis, Sirens and the Gypsy Echoes.
"Since 1997, I have dabbled in the mysterious world of bellydance. In 2000, I became an independent soloist and the premiere dancer of Nada Brahma, an eclectic Boise-based band. I have also had the honor of collaborating with Brothers of the Baladi, Jeremiah Soto, Mediterranean RaqsBand, and Pangia. I feel that I will always be a student of the dance, and have been fortunate enough to take classes from Sidonia Om Dunia, Amy Sigil, Suhaila Salimpour, Rachel Brice, Morocco, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Linda Faoro, Freyja, Kami Liddle, and Monica Fernandez. In solo performance, I seek to demonstrate the importance of audience participation while specializing in the art of progressive bellydance fusion, improvisational dance, and the essential dancer/live musician connection."
