Hybrid Rules

-Rules & Info-

1. All entries must be received by June 1st, 2011. - No entries will be accepted at the door. You must pre-register. Even if you pay online, you must send in a printed registration. Registration must be postmarked on or before June 1st. Do not send your music with your registration.

2. All entries are first-come first-served. - When the category is filled it will be closed and we will no longer accept registrations. All categories have an entry limit of 20.

3. All categories must have a minimum of 4 entries or they may cancelled or rearranged. - If a category is cancelled, all entry fees will be returned or refunded.

4. Competitors may enter as many categories as they wish. - ~~Competitors cannot register to perform in the Saturday Showcase.~~ Competitors CAN register to perform in any of the festival showcases. There are no discounts for multiple entries.

5. A $35 fee will be assessed to all returned checks.

6. There will be no refunds or substitutions. - If registered competitors are unable to attend the event, they cannot sell their spot, and no refunds will be given.

7. Competitors must supply 2 CDs of performance music. - CDs must have only the competition performance music on it. Print the dancer/group name and category on the CD, not on the case. There must be a separate CD for each category entered. Competitors may pick up their music at the end of the competition, no sooner. Live music must be okayed by Samira.

8. Time limits will be strictly enforced. - There will be a 10 second grace period on all music. If your music exceeds the limit, it will be faded out and you will be expected to leave the stage. This will also affect your scores negatively.

9. All competitors must check in at 9:00 am on Saturday . - There will be a second check in 1 hour prior to your category. Please have your music with you at the initial (9:00 am) check-in. If you are not present to check in you will forfeit your place in the competition.

10. Competitors will draw numbers to establish their place in the lineup. - This will occur at the 9:00 am check-in. If competitor is not present to draw, they will go first in their category.

11. Competitors must perform entire piece on stage.

12. Any competitor who is overly intoxicated, abusive, or ill-behaved will be disqualified with no refund.

13. All judge's scores are final. - Competitors' score sheets will be available no sooner than Sunday morning prior to and after the workshops. They will not be sent out to competitors and discarded if not retrieved. Blank judge's score sheets are available for preview prior to competing if requested.

14. All participants of Fusion Fest allow Samira Il Naia and all associated affiliates of the festival to use photos and video for any promotional purposes. - Competitors release all rights, compensation recourse and complaints.

15. There will be NO recording of competitors by private parties. This will be strongly enforced and any found doing so will be promptly excused from the event. - If the competition is recorded by Samira Il Naia or Fusion Fest affiliates, competitors will have the opportunity to receive a copy of their performance.

16. Winners will be announced and perform their competition piece at the 'Evening Showcase' Saturday evening, - Category winners will be notified prior to the 'Evening Showcase' in order to prepare. Please wait to be notified, do not approach any of the judges or staff for results. If for any reason, competitors are not able to perform their piece in the 'Evening Showcase', they will forfeit their win to the next runner up.

17. Winners agree to use their title respectfully and honorably.

18. Prizes - Winners will receive: Trophy, music CDs, Fusion Fest DVD, Competition accessories, gift certificates, 2012 workshop packages. There is only one winner awarded in each category.
