The competition is all-inclusive which means:  All competitors compete against one another, yet judged within the parameters of their chosen category.  This way scoring is based on technique and execution rather than choice of style.  We find this to be more fair and less opinionated.  Choose carefully for the style that best describes your dancing.

 

Tribal Fusion -

Open to all competitors displaying Tribal Fusion style dance.  Competitors will be expected to show Tribal components.  Props are not required and are limited to swords and zills.  No extra points will be given for prop use.  Any other prop use must enter the 'Fusion with Prop' category.  

 

Cabaret Fusion - 

Open to all competitors displaying Cabaret Fusion.  This includes the fusing of Egyptian, Turkish, American, etc. styles of bellydance with non-cabaret genres.  If it requires a beaded bra & belt, it probably belongs in this category.  Props are not required and are limited to veils, Isis wings, zills, canes, and swords.  No extra points will be given for prop use.  Any other prop use must enter the 'Fusion with Prop' category.    
 
 

Fusion with Prop -  

Open to all competitors displaying their choice of fusion with either a non-standard prop, or unique use of a standard prop.  Prop must be utilized in at least half of the performance.   

 

Experimental - 

Open to all competitors displaying Experimental styles of fusion.  This is the category for all those who simply can't define their style!  There are no restrictions on this category, yet it is important that the style presented is innovative and unique.  Props are not allowed in this category.   

 

*There is no age or gender restriction on any of the categories.  Competitors are not separated by level/years of experience.  Music choice is not restricted in any of the categories, however music choice and interpretation is part of the judging criteria and should be taken into consideration by all competitors.  See Competition Rules & Info.
