Akili Alima
(member since February 2005, MAZANA 2007)
Akili Alima is one of the original members of Cairo Fusion. She started taking ballet and tap dancing lessons when she was three-years old, but gave up dance when she was 15 because she thought she had no future in dance. In January 2005, a friend invited Akili to try out a belly dance class with Samira. Although her friend moved away, Akili was hooked. Perfection is not required to belly dance, and continual progress is an achievable goal. Besides, belly dance is the fabulous combination of moving the body, costumes and jewelry. Akili wants to belly dance forever!
